I'm not really playing anymore and decided to share my wealth with my guildies to help them with HoM. I want this to be fun though, using guild parties to host different games and competitions.

I started some days ago with a game that we now call 7mats and which got great response. Everyone playing the game has 1 of the following mats ready for trade: Bone, tanned, cloth, scale, chitin, wood and dust. I start trade with the first player and randomly puts the mats in trade and the player does the same. Then we submit trade and compare the placement and the player is awarded 1 point per mat on same slot as I have. For 2/7 the award was 50k, for 3/7 100k and so on. Every player get the same amount of tries ofc.

I want tips on competitions that works like the 7mat game for giveaway of things like ecto, money and stuff that you can easily give away to a lot of winners. I also want to host some bigger competitions with 1-2 winners with prizes like obby/vabbian and single items/full elite area clears. Difference is all who gets it right wins vs be the best to win.

Trivia can be fun but a player used to wiki might cheat. Also awards more experienced players which isn't the idea of this "giveaway". Same with a running competition. Some elite contests are fun though.

I was in GToB one time when someone was surveying people for a game of "Family Feud" for their alliance. "What's your favorite weapon skin?" "What's the best outpost?" "A single word that starts with 'R' to describe a mesmer." etc. Kind of like trivia, but no way to cheat with wiki since it's based on popular opinion rather than fact. A lot of effort on your part would be required to survey people ahead of time, though, and I'm not sure if you're willing to give up that much of your time. But I thought it was a fun idea.

Skrimmishes are always fun you could make teams and have winners get mats/ money could add fun rules, no armor, only warriors it could be really funny like lvl 1s fighting to the death.

You could have a competition that involves achieving some goal in pre-searing... so they'd need to use one of their alt slots to create a brand new toon (which you may consider undesirable - I don't know). But this could be something you did for one of the big prizes.

Everyone creates a new toon while you wait in pre (you'll have to monitor this with a pre-toon obviously). To qualify & ensure there's no cheating, once they log on with that toon they can't log off until the contest is complete - and you're probably going to have to have them screenshot their age & email it to you to prove it's new (and thus doesn't have any buffs from Nick/drops/etc. that it has traded from another pre-toon they have).

Then set them loose with a goal... first to lvl 3, or first to farm 20 husks, or first to *something*.

This might be more involved than you want to get (and obviously, anyone who doesn't have Proph can't play), but it's the first idea that popped into my head.

Your guildies are very lucky... I'm sure they're going to miss you & will appreciate whatever you do!

I like the "family feud" idea. Will set up some questions and then ask all the guildies when I see them online. This type of quest is nice cause I can choose to award all that get x% correct answers or those that get the highest.

The pre-searing idea is quite nice but I would need another slot to go to pre. Maybe there's a possibility to do something like this in post. Like a scavenger hunt. This will reward better players though.

Any ideas on guessing games or games involving the /roll command?

a guild in my allaince does a monthly give away,where everyone is welcome.they announce a item then everyone does the /roll 100 emote and highest winner gets item. and the items range from tomes to stuff like 10 ectos. also if you do something where they made a real item,like a gw easter egg post pictures to your forum if you have one.there people can vote on and top winners get prizes.

Our guild used to do hide and seek competitions a lot. You'd hide somewhere and give some minor hint about that location. First open trade gets the item.

"Find me" : You hide out in int district in a random town. First to find you wins.

"Treasure Hunt" : Give out a number of things to collect, the weirder the better (1 of each hero armor, taro leaves, bobo, etc) within a certain time.

"Easter Egg" : At the Isle of the Namless, drop goodies all over the map while everybody waits at entrance. Then yell "go!"

"Catch me!" : You use a speedboost in guild hall and everybody (without using a speedboost!) tries to initiate trade. Need a lot of people and smaller, more confined guild halls are preferred.

"The Gauntlet" : Everybody has the same build. Attempt the Drok's Run (no pcons!). Secret Lair of the Snowmen also works. Person who runs the furthest wins.

More complex:
"Karaoke" : Sing songs on vent/teamspeak for money.

"Photo contest" : Many possible themes: most funny, ugliest armor, best scenery, etc.

"RA the Way its Meant to be Played" : Get everybody to run some bad/funny build (W/Mo with RoJ, etc). Person who gets the longest win streak within a timeframe wins.
